I purchased this phone for my mother last month for about 60k in Pakistan and considering its price is 37k in india I think its a little expensive. The quality feels premium as its made up of aluminum perfect for my mother as she drops her phone every where:D but before im going to tell what I loved about this phone and what I didnt ill give an over view about this phones specifications, this phone comes in 2 varients that is 4gb ram one with 64gb rom and 6gb ram with 128gb rom, I bought the 4gb ram one which is the only one currently available in Pakistan.
this phone has an aluminum body with 2.5D glass in the front
a 5.3 inch 1440p IPS display(554 PPi) with corning gorilla glass 5
Snapdragon 835 octa core with 4 kyro cores clocked at 2.5GHz and 4 kyro cores clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 540 GPU
4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB ROM
It has a dual primary camera of 13mp f/2.0 with carl zeiss lens and has a dual tone LED flash.
Secondary camera consist of 13mp f/2.0
WiFi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
bluetooth: 5.0
fingerprint, gyro, accelerometer, barometer sensors etc
Quick charge 3.0
And a non removeable 3090mah Li ion battery
The things which I loved:
The image is very crisp as it has a 1440p display but not an amoled display which is a bummer.
Loved the camera as it has dual 13mp camera which gives very nice and sharp images not to mention the video quality that it can take upto 2160p at 30 fps, and front camera takes brilliantly exposed selfies too.
The experince is smooth and lag free and I observed no heating up issue
The new feature of taking pic from back and front camera at the same time is a very nice addition
The things which I didnt like:
The battery on nokia 8 seems too small to me, my mother gets annoyed of charging it again and again, as this is not a budget phone it should have atleast 4000mah battery for a whole day.
The phone is splash proof but not water proof like samsung or iphones IP68 rating. it should have been water proof.
The overall design is something MEH. its nothing extra ordinary and the device feels boring. The overall design of the device is indifferent from other nokia devices.
Benchmarks:
nokia 8 scored 173386 and marked itself just below iphone 7. but as iphone 8 is an year old phone its not to impressive.
Last word:
Nokia 8 is a decent smartphone but the market has already so many devices with these features and specifications but in less price value, so its upto you if you are a nokia fan go for it otherwise I wont really recommend this phone as its expensive.
