One of the Greatest Investments Made!

I just recently picked up a mobile phone for myself which so happens to be the Nokia 8210. It was about a two hundred dollars and was one of the best decision I’ve made. This phone is better than most such as the Samsung phone or Qualcomm. This phones has all the features that I wanted that what makes this phone so great.

features

This phone has many features like most such as keyguard which can easily be activated by holding down the ’’end’’ key for three seconds. This prevents you from making accidental calls. When storing a name and number you can use capital and lower case letters and you can store up to two hundred names and numbers. You can also set up a lock code so only people who know it can access the phone, their is also a security code if you wish to change settings such as restricting calls or auto-answering.

This phone also has a built in alarm clock, automatic redial, automatic answer, calendar, calculator and games. You can make notes that way you won’t forget important dates. There’s call restriction so you can block out certain numbers. This phone is equipt with a call timer that tells you the duration of the call. A unique feature with this phone is that you can make a conference call, although I don’t know how they charge for this I think they will just double the minutes of the duration of the call I’m not absolutely sure because I’ve never used this feature.

You can also apply a custom tone for certain people that way you know if you want to answer the phone or not. There are also seven distinct profiles which you can customize for different situations. For example if you are in a meeting you can set your phone so it doesn’t ring and only vibrates acting like a pager. Or if you are outdoors you can set it on a loud ring so you can hear it. Another plus to this phone is you can increase or decrease the headset volume during a call by simply pressing the up or down arrow respectively. With this phone you can see the last number you called and at one time. It also shows you the last 10 calls you made and received and how long the duration of those calls were. While on a call you can mute the microphone so the other party can’t hear what you’re doing which may be useful at times.

With an additional charges you can subscribe to call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, calling card, voice messages, and text messaging.

Advantages

Some of the features that I like about this phone which other phones don’t have is that it has a vibrating alert which is very useful when it comes to meetings and I cannot miss a call. This phone also has 32 distinct ringers, 14 of them being songs. Some of the songs are, Mozart 40, Elise, Badinerie, Ode to Joy, Menuet and a few others. Lastly this phone offers five games which can keep me occupied during the long train rides to work. There is also a lot of extra accessories which you can buy for this phone the most common being, cases, belt hooks, and headsets. Lastly with this phone you can choose three different languages, English, Spanish and French, Portuguese, Chinese, and two other I’m not familiar with, maybe Japanese and some other.

Disadvantage

There’s not that many disadvantages that I can think of the only one the I can think of is that when storing a name and number you can only add one number per name unlike other phones.

Battery

To most people the battery life is a key factor when it comes to buy a phone. For this phone there are three type of batteries you can use the BLS-2, BMS-2S and BLS-4. You can also use two types of chargers, the ACP-7U and ACP-9U.

The BLS-2 can have a talk time of up to 2 hours and 55 mins, Analog time of 1 hour 25 minutes and a standby time of 110 hours or 15 hours analog. This battery takes 4 hours with the ACP-7U and 2 hours with the ACP-9U to charge completely.

The BLS-2S can have a talk time of up to 2 hours and 55 mins, Analog time of 1 hour 25 minutes and a standby time of 110 hours or 15 hours analog. This battery takes 4 hours with the ACP-7U and 1 hours and 30 minutes with the ACP-9U to charge completely.

The BLS-4 can have a talk time of up to 4 hours and 50 mins, Analog time of 2 hour 25 minutes and a standby time of 180 hours or 23 hours analog. This battery takes 5 hours with the ACP-7U and 3 hours and 30 minutes with the ACP-9U to charge completely.

Final Thoughts

Overall I think this is a great phone, it does everything I need it to do and hasn’t caused me any problems. It has features that most phones don’t have such as vibration and 32 distinct ringers, which I enjoy.
