Yesterday I have posted my first ever experience with internet that compel many of my friends to remember their own story from their old memories. And today I wish to write about my first experience with mobile phone and how Nokia E51 came in my life...
Other than internet the second thing that was attracting most of the eyes was mobile phone. We have looked at many people with nice mobile phones, talking loudly in open sometimes normally but sometimes just to show off...
We were also curious about this gadget and whenever we got a chance we try to hold the mobile phones as much as possible and try to learn all their features...talking on a mobile phone has become an achievement for us...our elders told us that they have to pay even to attend the calls, that means incoming calls were also chargeable...our eagerness to use mobile increases by the time...
After some time two of my friends bought second hand mobile phones and also arrange sim cards for them and we all started using mobile phones with lots of excitement...but later on the mobile phone expenses have become un-affordable to them and they could not be able to recharge their sim cards further...then I decided to bear this expense on my own for sometime and recharge one of the sim with my pocket money...
I have borrowed a mobile phone from one friend and sim card from other friend and after recharging started carrying the giant Motorola TalkAbout with a long antenna in my pocket...whenever my mobile phone got an incoming call, it started ringing & vibrating and I started shivering both due to excitement and its heavy vibration...the phone was an old one and also defected, hence the vibration mode cant be set to off and we were also not much aware of the many features...
After sometime I have bought my own Nokia 1100 when I started doing my first job...after a year I have sold that phone to my friend and bought Nokia 6600 for other exciting features like MMS, camera, sound & video recording, etc...I have spent a lot on that phone so I have decided to use that as long as possible. But after around two and a hald year my lovely handset fall from a height and started feeling sick (ab honi ko kaun taal sakta hai).
I have visited many local technicians and also to the Nokia service center but all of them suggested me to sell my broken phone. But I couldnt made my mind to sell off my lovely handset and also my budget was not permitting me to buy a new phone. So I have used my phone for around 2 months even with blank screen, it stopped ringing, I was not able to know the incoming number or read SMS. I use to dial numbers only with hit n trial...that was a bitter experience for me...
But at the same time I started searching for some good phone with all the latest features and within my budget of 10-12 K. And after doing some research online as well as discussing with friends, I have finalized two Nokia phones - E51 & N73 Music Edition and one Sony Ericsson K790i to choose from. All of them were in my budget and I was almost ready to buy any of them...
But at the same time my dear wife dropped her phone in a bucket full of water...and my dream of buying a new phone for me interrupted as she also needs a phone urgently for her job...So on the same day we move to The Mobile Store and bought Sony Ericsson K790i for her...
She was so happy with that phone and I had mixed feeling as we have a budget of only one phone in that month...I have promised the store executive to buy another phone soon...And I kept on using my old buddy who was ready to give its loyal service to me until its last breath...
After a month I bought a new Nokia E51 again from the same The Mobile Store. I liked this phone specially due to its new and stylish look and also some good features...as we already bought sony Ericsson as a good music phone with 3.15 MP camera, I selected Nokia E51 over Nokia N73 ME as N73 was very common in my friend circle...People around me started asking me about my new phone due to its new look...I am enjoying FM radio most of the time...
I have used Nokia 6600 for a long time and recently bought Sony Ericsson K790i, so I use to compare each and every feature of new E51 with my old buddy 6600 and new K790i...I am not going deep in technicalities of the phone, just mentioned some good and useful features here.
E51 was launched in September 07 and it is a good business phone and its a first phone of Nokia E series. It do not support features of Black berry but we can have access to other mail boxes and surf internet...
The back and side body of my phone is made up of copper colored metal which gives it a stylish look and make it different from other phones. It came with a stylish wallet to keep it safe from dust and slipping from the hand. It has 2MP Camera, no need to compare with quality of 3.15 MP camera of K790i with flash.
It has 512 MB external memory Card sufficient for many images and your favorite songs. Its keypad is small one and hence the keys are small.
First I felt it is not so easy for me to dial numbers handling the phone in one hand but later on I became use to dial numbers with one hand...
One new feature of instant messaging that I came across is that I can send the message instantly that I am busy, if I am not able to attend the call...
It supports 2G Network with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G Network with HSDPA 850/2100. Its dimensions are 114.8 x 46 x 12 mm, 61 cc and weight is 100 gms.
The display type is TFT, 16M colors and size 240 x 320 pixels, 2.0 inches It has a five-way scroll key to navigate. The phone book memory is practically unlimited entries and fields with the feature of photocall.
It has standard Li-Ion battery 1050 mAh (BP-6MT) The stand-by time is up to 310 hrs and talk time is up to 4 hrs 20 min
