With deep regret, I would like to bring to the notice of everyone who is thinking of buying Nokia Lumia 1520 smart phone. May be because of bad luck, I had purchased one Nokia Lumia 1520 by paying INR 44500/ for phone+ INR 2600/ for its protective cover in the month of April 2014 from Anchal Computers Chandigarh. After few days of using it, its back cover started heating up and battery started getting drained within few minutes.
When I try to charge it, it was not charging at all. I kept phone for one and a half hour as it is and started charging thereafter. After full charging, it was okay. This phenomenon kept on repeating after 10 to 15 days. Every time problem was reported to Nokia care Kurukshetra and they tried all sorts of hits and trials but no improvement in the situation was noticed. On 15th July 2014 again the same problem was noticed and immediately reported to Nokia care and on 17th, I was called to Nokia care along with handset for software up gradation. So called software was updated at Nokia care and after less than a minute without using it again started heating up and draining the battery. Immediately problem was reported back to Nokia care and they have asked us to leave the handset for 15 days.
In fact, after the purchase of this ill fated handset, most of the time it remained in Nokia Care and I am hardly able to use it. Whenever I use it, I always keep a spare old hand set because I do not know when This Nokia handset can lend me in trouble.
My expectation from the phone was of reliable & consistent performance as my work profile is related to site construction activity & have to be in constant touch with sites which are spread from Haryana to Chhattisgarh. However, this phone has always put me in embarrassment. Nokia could save its face either by replacing the handset or by returning my money. Else, I shall recommend everyone in my network and all social networking sites to avoid purchasing any mobile phone from such company who is indifferent to customers’ problems. I’m highly disappointed with the phone & services. I’d some higher expectations set from this company. Hope this message encourages Nokia to introspect and for the future buyers, to make an informed choice.
