This devolution is disappointing in and of itself, but worse when you consider what I briefly mentioned earlier during the introduction: the low-end of the market is woefully devoid of attractively designed handsets. They are all non-descript and featureless slabs – again, not hideous, but not exactly memorable either. The Lumia 530 proved that just because budget phones need to be produced easily and cheaply en masse they do not have to look dull – the Lumia 530 takes this ethos and throws it out the window. With a brick attached, just to be sure.
