Nokia Lumia is a true innovation and a real smart phone. Microsoft has done a great job in designing the windows 7.5 OS. It is fast intuitive and very stylish.
Nokia is known to make durable phones with great style and ruggedness. With windows, Nokia now has what it was missing all the while - a good operating system.
I bought my Lumia 800 on the day of launch in India. It was 30, 000, and it was the only option to check out windows 7.5. Today, Lumia 610 is there at 12000 and then there Lumia 920 at 38000 (approx).
Windows 8 is better but functionally for a non-techie, it is almost the same with Windows 7.8. Microsoft has brought out windows 7.8 for customers who have bought the windows 7.5 phone, as windows 7.5 cannot be upgraded to windows 8. The reason is very technical and so I wont go there.
On the whole, Lumia range of phones have everything that the user would want in a smartphone. It is almost a mini computer.
1. Microsoft Office: It is a great thing to have for users who wants to use it for professional purposes. You can even make a powerpoint presentation.
2. Skydrive - Skydrive is a great feature to store your files in the cloud so that you can access them anywhere and by any device. Lumia 800 had come with 25GB free skydrive space.
3. Contacts: The contacts functionality is completely a different experience in Lumia. It is just too good. It is not only about phone numbers and email IDs, it is about being connected to the whole social media space. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are all tightly integrated. Secondly, all contacts are directly synced to your hotmail ID. (Yes, having a hotmail or LIVE id is a must). You have to see it to believe it. It is just too good a design innovation
to be contd.
