I bought this mobile about 2 weeks back, and there have been times when I have been thrilled and others when I have been just plain disgusted with it.
The mobile certainly has a number of features and very good specifications. But it miserably falls short of expectations in the software department.
Camera
3.2 Megapixel CCD gives great images in the daytime. At night, the LED flash isnt very powerful and you can get only average looking photos. One crib is that, it you cant quickly change some of the setting (esp the quality-setting) of the camera.
LCD screen
Bright and well illuminated. Easy to read/view.
Styling
The hardware itself is very sleek and well designed. The camera lens is sheathed and the cover slides out smoothly and automatically puts the phone into camera mode. The keypad could have done with rounded keys with better set-off to make it easy to operate, but its not too difficult as it is.
Battery life
Ok, I havent measured it exactly but it is pretty long lasting. For heavy users, it should be satisfactory, in the least.
Software
Now come the cribs. It is really really slow but that could have been forgivable if it was atleast user-friendly and not so irksome. Sample this,
No auto key-lock!!!
What the blazes! Why cant they have a simple timer based auto key-lock feature.. It really gets on my nerves to find out that my mobile is dialling some number automatically, simply because the keys were not locked.
Minimal information display
This is true in a number of screens. For example, when viewing an SMS, the date/time it was sent is not visible immediately. You have to enter a menu, scroll-down through it and click on message details to see that!! Rotten red radishes! The text cursor is also very thin and almost as the same color as the background. You have to move the cursor back and forth with the joystick and use your dark light motion-detecting peripheral retina to notice it. Annonying almighty antonyms!
