I purchased N95 second day of its launch in India .I thought of changing my Nokia 6670 and got this .
*Appearance
N95 set is indeed fascinated one .it is easy to carry on one’s palm itself.Pouch was provided. Very tight suite provides safety and **prevents from scratch and accidental damage. Main camera is in Rear and secondary camera is in front .but Both cannot be simultaneously activated .
Mine is Pink color and battery is small in size. As Charger is different from other Nokia models it cannot be used for other models as far as my knowledge goes. Screen’s wide and resolution is satisfactorily good.Still it is possible to step in to show room of Nokia where free Demo is demonstrated to the visitors.
Functionalities
Features are many and Potential usage is very large.
It is doubtful for any one to use its full potential always.However, I presume that routine usage may be less like other cell phone models unless video recording and replay with TV is warranted.
Many features can be accessed without SIM card, particularly camera and FM.
It is peculiar observation made during Switching On/OFF. While switching on the display comes with delay tolerable and it appears sudden jump. it is interesting to watch But while switching off I need to press two times.
On First press it vanishes all menu and displays .If keen observation is made two lines with less bright can be seen at the middle of the screen. On second press it goes off fully, I do not know why it happens but I do not want to experiment, as it is very costly items,
Let me Wait for some more days then take to vendor/show room for repair or clarification but anyway it does not harm as such.My experience with American APC UPS goes similar way. i.e. it needs two time press off/on switch to switch off completely
Sound is very clear and We can amplify the sound with additional unit( third party unit and costing Rs300/=)
Provision of Slide screen up and down.Sliding Up for cell phone usage and down for FM/MP3.
I observed that keys are locked while screen is at rest at center. To unlock keys screen is to moved up or down. This can be changed according to our convenient.On menu selection Icons are scrolling in cyclic form, the style is very amassing right top icon comes to center and pushes center one to left-upIt is like a waveform circulation
One hour video recording is possible with Memory card of 1 GB that was supplied along with unit in my unit. That can be increased with upgrading memory size
Interface with PCs
There are two way of doing this, the first one, take out memory card and insert into memory adapter that was supplied with unit. Then usual way we can connect it with USB port
Second way
Straight away we can connect to PC with USP cable.(port is provided on the unit down near Power point).The Moment it is connected PC recognize and install the N95. It is very simple.
Interface of N95 are more than three, though two are sufficient. In fact USB alone will nowadays support all of our requirements. Other mode I did not try. Nor does situation warrant me to do so.
TV interface is also provided. But ordinary film after copying from CD /DVD as it is cannot be seen straight away with TV. I tried but not succeeded. Format is not matching. It needs to be converted to suit N95.
Memory adapter: we need not use Cell phone for copying files form cell phone to PC and vice versa. we can simply take out memory card and insert in the Adater that shall be with Memory reader . this is to be connected with USB of PC for access.
Ear phone cable in two parts: we can find two parts of the cable. not like other ear phone cable. the front portion is with volume controller and signal receiver for FM. when we connect this part alone will receive FM .If we want to aviod disturbance to other we can use second portion of it for slef hearing.
