Virus Problems
Back in my newbie days on the internet when I did not have any anti-virus protection, I was hit many times with unwanted destructive programs called viruses. Yes, these little critters have destroyed many important files such as games (hehe) and operating system files that crippled my system time and time again.
I used another commercial virus scanner for a while, but I was still getting virused no matter how many times I updated. It seemed the program I was using was always behind the times.
Enter Norton
Well, my diseased days are over! Since I had purchased Norton AntiVirus 2000, I have not been hit successfully since. Although I still get attacked, it does not mean that my machine has to go to the ground either. Should someone send me a virus or trojan (as long as it is known), Norton will notify you even if you are in the process of downloading it!
Live Update
Norton has the easiest mechanism for retrieving virus updates. All one has to do is simply use the Norton Antivirus Live Update and go to the internet for the all the upgrades.
If you are using an older version, you will have to upgrade your Live Update and retrieve many virus data definitions. That’s no problem though because the Norton website keeps you directed of what you need to do.
Virus Definitions Out-Of-Date?
Norton AntiVirus also has a warning device that will let you know if you haven’t been to their website lately to check for new virus and program updates. This feature has helped me stay on top of new virus threats many times in the past.
No More Email Blues
Norton AnitVirus also allows for Email Protection so it can catch those nasty viruses in their tracks should someone inadvertently send one with a message. Norton grabs these viruses and can quarantine them to a special area for you to decide what to do with it.
This program is simple to install and walks the installer through the process with little difficulty. The installer can make their own settings on how he/she wants Norton AntiVirus to protect his/her system. The customizing is fairly easy and not too difficult to interpret.

This program has given me more than just a virus-free computer. It has given me piece of mind that I did not have about my machine before. I could never tell if the problems were with my hardware or did I have another virus. Those days of indecision are over!
