Boost Your Pc's Musical Skills

I first came across Win Amp some three years ago when it was only version 1.1.2 I found it very hard to use, good but hard to use. The functions slowed my computer down and it took a while to load. So I was unpleased and deleted it straight away. Then about a year ago from now I noticed that it was getting popular, so I thought id give it another go. So I visited the site https://winamp.com and it was pretty fast and efficient and got to the download area quickly, then I downloaded version 2.something and was on my way.

At first it didnt look very much different so I was like ’’oh no change, I can be arsed with it’’ but I had a quick fiddle and noticed it was alot easier to use, and much much faster. I was then willing to give it a try, and from then on the wonders have amazed me.

The design in a simple layout with an lcd display that can display time played or left, balance, volume, stereo or mono and more also can be used to display bars that move with the beat of the music.

It is a basic square shape with a bar near the bottom which is a scan bar and can be used to forward or rewind your current mp3.

There is a volume and a balance bar(just in case you want one ear only), and buttons for repeat playlist and shuffle mode.

The is a few buttons on the side for menu’s and options. On the lcd display there is also another function, when a song plays it has a visual display thing which can have bars or a line that moves according to the music. There is also a range of options that can be used to have full screen visualisations.

Fully Customisable - You can download millions and millions of skins which are pictures and designs that fit on the program instead of the basic colours and design of the box shape that is the mp3 player. Also, there is a range of plugins you can get, I dont know a lot of them because there is thousands, ranging from bass amplifiers, sound fx generaters to dancing sheep, Dancing ladies and graphics that move to the beat, there is all kinds of plungins that move to your music in many different forms, you will have to try them to see em. My Favourite has to be ’’X-Plugin’’ Which is a huge set of different speakers that are made to look like they are playing the music on your desktop its a very niffy effect. The Skins range from Southpark to Budwiser and if there is a make of clothing or drink or anything come to thing of it out there you like I garentee there is a skin for it. I like the metal designed ones personally.

The player comes with a playlist dialog that can be left open or closed as you go throught your mp3 list. You can create your own playlist by drag and dropping the files in or adding them via a button. Then you can save or load your playlists, They can also be sorted by Genre, name of title. There is also a built in graphic equaliser so you can set the output to your needs and you have a few you can load, such as full bass, disco or house, Depending on what type of music you like and your speaker set up.

The player can play a range of files as well as mp3 as you can download extra’s for it which make new music file types compatible.

If you are into mp3’s or you just have a few you should give this player a try as it is a cut above the rest, it is a real star player. So as the world of media expands you just have to download a simple small plugin and your player will be compatible with the latest, the newest one I have seen is a plugin that, in one, decodes your mp3 playlist and writes them onto your Cd-Writer without you needing to do anything.

oh and its FREE!!!

The sites for winamp are

http://www.winamp.com for winamp, https://download.com also has it and other links, https://winamp.com/plugins for the plugins and https://winamp.com/skins for the favorite skins.

Dave
