Oakridge International School Gachibowli recently organised ‘Poetry Out Loud’ a Poetry Competition for Grade 3 students. The competition was concluded in 3 rounds conducted over a period of one month. The first two rounds were held at Class Room level where 3 students from each class were short listed to compete in the final round which was held at the grade level. Students were judged on the basis of success criteria such as memorisation, body language, pausing and pacing, clarity and expressions.
I was overwhelmingly satisfied that such an elaborate competition was held.I would like to congratulate the teachers and staff who planned and organised the event. Competitions in school are the stepping stones to success for kids. They instil within them confidence, courage and the will to compete. Moreover they provide the children a platform to express themselves.I believe such competitions are essential in order to equip children with all the qualities necessary to take up the challenges that lie ahead of them in future. They also help in improving their focus and determination.
I’m pleased that my daughter got to participate in the competition. I commend the hard work put in by the Class Teacher of Grade 3 C, Bhanusri Ma’am who guided and mentored her throughout the course of the competition. The competition provided my child a platform to express herself with confidence and over the period of this competition she has realised two important virtues of life which are ‘Practice Makes You Perfect’ and that the harder you work the closer you are to achieving your goal.
I would once again like to thank all the teachers and staff for putting up such a successful event. I’ll be looking forward to more such wonderful events in the future.
