OK! USA & CA

When I’m in London I always buy OK! magazine and often wished I could buy it at home.

OK! has decided to begin selling their magazine in Canada and the USA. The first issue is a Collectors Magazine and was published on August 15, 2005.

Richard Desmond, the wealthy one-time adult magazine publisher known in the tabloids as Dirty Des, decided to give us a taste of a British Tabloid with an North American spice. At the moment he is the publisher of the Daily Express and Daily Star. He’s taking on People and US magazines with a twist. They don’t pay celebrates and he will.

Jessica Simpson is the cover girl. The cover is made of glossy paper and when I picked it up and shook it no ads fell out.

The magazine is full of beauty and fashion ideas, has celebrity interviews, a lot of photographs of where the stars are & their homes, what’s the newest gossip on the Hollywood movie stars, diet and health information.

For example this issue told us about Paris Hilton’s wedding plans and who her bridesmaids will be. You’ll see John and Lisa O’Hurleys home, find out about Hollywood’s coolest couple, (Eva Longoria and Tony Parker), and get the Juice on Beyonce, Brooke Burke, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Gardner, Kevin Costner, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

I’m going to try and make Mr. Cecil’s BBQ Chicken, because I still have some on Chief Paul Prudomme’s seasoning blend, from when I was in New Orleans. My horoscope told be I was good with money!!! Last But Not Least is an interview with Queen Latifah.

When are the Paris’ getting married? Tara Reid who is Paris Hilton’s new best friend and is traveling with her, (they are in Cyprus), says there are no wedding plans yet.

All the stars love Santa Monica and you’ll find out why. You’ll find out who’s hot and on the A-list of stars. The men can cut out the picture of Jessica Simpson wearing short shorts from the movie The Dukes Of Hazzard.

When I was looking at the pictures on the young actresses I noticed that their shoulder are rolling forward. Didn’t their parents ever tell them to stand up straight? I also think some actresses look alike. Jessica Alba, (from the Dark Angel TV show) looks like Angelina Jolie and Mischa Barton, (from the OC TV show) looks like the late Natalie Woods.

There are a lot of articles about the TV Shows like the Desperate House Wives and a few about the OC.

Of course there are ads but not a lot and every magazine needs ads to pay for the production costs. What we pay is the gravy for the magazine. I did see something in an ad that I’m going to buy. It’s called Ciroc Snap Frost Vodka and it’s not made from potatoes it’s made from grapes.

I liked the way the articles were laid out because when you began to read one it continued until it was over. There was no ’’to continue turn to page...’’

Rachel’s and Dr. Cohen answers to medical problems were interesting. The Traveling Tips were excellent and so were the Make-Up Tips, (I want to look like Halle Berry who is in Victoria filming a new movie).

I haven’t bought People Magazine in months since they went to an all photo format and US doesn’t interest me and I’m here to thank Dirty Des for publishing OK! for the North American Market. He didn’t forget England as there is a page of A Lil’ Bit Of London.

People who live in the United States paid $3.29 USD and I paid $4.49 CAD and I get four issues free.

It has 98 pages not including the cover and the IBS number is 7547008966

It was easy to read and I read it in one day. It was very hard to find a place that sells it so I have decided to take a years subscription for $50.00 for 51 issues.

I don’t know if you can buy the magazine in India so here is the link:
