today, 24th October, I was on my way to home, located at rajarajeshwari nagar, from kr puram railway station. I got down from nayandahalli metro station around 8:30am and was trying to book an ola auto when an auto driver with the vehicle number KA - 15 - 5963 approached me and offered the ride for the same fare as Ola. The fare displayed by Ola was about Rs 95 and the auto driver agreed to drop me home at this fare. And without suspecting anything I accepted the ride. We arrived at my home and it was time to pay the fare. Then the driver started asking for extra Rs10 over the fare and I agreed to pay Rs 110. I gave him a 100 rupee note and a 10 rupee note, which he returned almost 5 seconds later telling how both the notes are torn. I was surprised but took the notes back and gave him a 200 ruppee note. Even this he returned saying it was torn. Now this was weird, as I was pretty sure it wasn’t torn. I was baffled, but still without suspecting any fowl play handed him a third note which was a Rs500 note. This time he kept the note and started claiming that I have handed him a Rs50 note and not a 500 one, and luckyly there is a witness to this whole incident, my neighbor, and she also said how she has seen me handing the 500 ruppee note. And then I demanded that the auto driver check his wallet and pockets in front of us. He said OK but asked to first take out my luggage, which was still on the auto’s seats. The second I took the luggage and kept it on the floor the auto driver made a run for it. He escaped with my money and left me with three torn notes. It was at this moment that he scrammed that I realized that I have been cheated and robbed by this auto driver.
