It was a very bad experience with OLA cab service.Very recently I booked OLA cab using mobile App and selected Hatchback type car. While confirming it showed a message that peak time charge will be 2.3x times. Still I confirmed thinking that it will be less only. Within 5 mins the driver called and picked me. It is a very old Tata indica car without A/C.I didn’t mind all these things until I see the bill.
The travel distance was just 15.3 km.But the charges are: For first 4 km - 80 rupees and for rest 11.33 kms - 113.3 and Riding charge 20.35 and here came out the real devil 2.3 x times charge 277.75 and then tax 27.52.So totally I paid 519 Rupees just for 15.3 kilometers. The actual charge should be around 200, because of 2.3x times charge and riding charge it become 519 rupees which is highly expensive.
The worst part in OLA is you have to book only through mobile APP. It showed as peak time charge 2.3x but how come the cab driver called me in few minutes after I booked. I don’t believe that Saturday afternoon 3’O clock is peak time.
I don’t take taxi often, so I am not sure about other cab services. While going back I used other cab and it is Sedan type.I paid 300 for return(16.1 Km) which is again little expensive. I don’t want to tell the other cab name because it will give picture that I am campaigning for it.
So I would suggest, please check the charges carefully before confirm and try to book cabs as early as possible before travel time.
And try all the cab service like Uber, Meru, Taxiforsure .etc. But please never ever think about OLA.
