Almost conned with the first Ad

How do we trust our buyers? How do you know we aren’t a step away from getting conned? How do we know the entire process of  exchanging of products is a safe option?

My Ad on olx for selling my lumia 920 was up for few days and I got few calls, the most recent one was from this number -+91 8015107360, he called himself Rahul and said he would be interested to buy my phone.

The deal sounded great and I agreed to it. When asked to come to a certain location, he lies about being there and makes me go around the area and asking me to come near different location.

After finally meeting the buyer, he says he will go and call his brother who is on the bike, but after seeing my dad also present there, he just sits on the bike and they just run away from that place.

What do we get from all this? Women sellers should be more cautions? or Never trust the buyers? We put up ads on these websites with our phone numbers and email ids. What safety does olx gives us?

Why would I ever post another ad again after this experience? Why would I suggest anybody to post an ad on olx? What insurance of trust would you give us?

It is a shame on olx to not offer any security measures. So how safe are we?
