I have a Olympus FE-230 digital camera. Its a 7.1 mega pixel camera and its zoom capacity is 4x optical and one more 1 x digital zoom. The camera’s picture quality is awesome. It captures the pictures in natural colours. When ever I share pictures to my friends first question they ask is what camera I used , even though they have canon cameras.
I have to say Olympus beats canon cameras in picture quality. Canon pictures are more sharper , but olympus captures pictures in natural colours. Its colour contrast is awesome.
Second thing I have to appreciate this camera for its Ease of use. The camera is very compact and very easy to hold. And Anybody can easily learn and take the pictures, and also there are some advanced mode you can use to capture better pictures.
Video quality also very good. Its frame rate is higher than other competitors. Clean video.
Overall product is excellent..but wait. I have got some reliability issues with this product. My lens got struck once , it doesn’t come out after switch on. Even one of my relative had the same camera and he also got the same issue. I needed to spend Rs 3k for this. After repair , It was working fine some time. Now I got the another issue.
When ever camera exposed in sunlight, the pictures turns very bright. When I capture this I could see only white picture. So I have to again repair it .
Even though the camera is excellent in other terms it’s failed in reliability. I am not sure whether this issue is with this model alone or the whole olympus brand.
This is my experience so read lot of reviews about olympus cameras in terms of reliability and then buy.
