Don't miss it!

Although Omkara is inspired by Othello, I feel, it is made to near perfection. I was told before going to movie that this movie is not for masses but for classes. It turned out to be true only to some extent as I feel that this movie has an entertainment value which will appeal to masses too provided one bears the tragedy at the end of the movie.

The movie has a good plot and never ever one feels that the movie is stagnated some where. The most striking feature of the movie is the wonderful portrayal of characters. All characters are developed so well that they look real. Karisma Kapoor has natural and refreshing looks in this movie and to my surprise she has done good justice to her role. Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi are fine as usual. Naseeruddin Shah has given a powerpack performance yet again. But what is really striking is the performance of the pair, Konkona Sen-Sharma and Saif Ali Khan. Both of them have given memorable performances. Konkona’s ease in the role of Indu is worth mentioning.

Tassaduq Hussain’s cinematography is praise worthy. The movement of camera brings every action on screen to life. His camera also captures stunning landscapes whenever the plot requires them. Background music, no doubt, is just and is used effectively whereas the songs are no where near worthy of much appreciation. Perhaps Vishal Bharadwaj has invested most of his creativity in the transforming the original plot by Shakespeare, writing dialogues and also in directing the movie. The song picturized on Bipasha Basu is just forgettable. Despite that, Vishal Bharadwaj has given a package that is a wholesome experience of movie watching. I would like to say that he has set a benchmark for remaking a classic and tune it well to a plot that takes place at a different land. Kudos to him and his team!
