Awesome, fabulous, great, rocking were the words that I heard from my friends and colleagues who watched this movie and are movie freak, as they are the one who eagerly wait for Friday releases and are first day first show victim, I normally take feedback from them and they spend money.
I was already given a warning :- do not go with your wife, and my problem, I cannot go with my ex girl friend, hence no option, wife accompanied me, and she was already aware of this mess, since she had two options, either this movie or this movie but company of my ex girlfriend!!!!!!!!
fine... here I am not writing the plot of the movie, but I am writing this review as a avid viewer who would love to appreciate hard work done by Saif, Ajay and off course Konkona Sen, Karena and Vivek are they actually performers????, Mr. Shah awesome as usual
Movie by this time I am sure is known to every one including the plot, so lets cut the chase and come to the point, Pros and Cons:-
Pros:-
Classic conversion from Othello to Omkara, and for the masses, who don’t know Shakespeare, it’s close to reality for the kind of politics and atmosphere that prevails in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Sequence are classic, with dialogues and background music on right place and at right pace
Have read in mouthshut and have heard by my friends that movie is too vulgar and has hell lot of abuses... how dare censor could pass this movie..... was censor board sleeping....... how could Vishal Bhardwaj create this mess............ how could actors like Ajay could say yes to this movie.. ; For those I believe either they lock them selves in room or do not want to face the reality.... This movie is a canvas to reality in all senses... and to create that reality abuses are the integral part of the story , we cannot see Saif abusing preety zinta in salam namste they way he did to Konkana in Omkara, and reason is known to every one here.
Abuses: - Excellent... yes I would say excellent and were delivered terrifically by them, remember Konkona sen’s dialogue "Hum to yahan chn ki tarahan roti ...." and Saif’s "Beti and madar .....” were delivered on right time... it’s the same way you would expect a dacoit or the guy of that society.
No Switzerland, Australia, UK or USA which one could see in almost all movies... have heard was shot in some village in Maharashtra , and it looks so geniune as if shot in Eastern belt of Uttar Pradesh.
Costumes: - close to real, it’s for god sake this time clothes were in shabby shape... I was always surprised how come there clothes are ironed even after fight sequence.
Fight sequence / love Sequence and others:- looked genuine... remember the title song when it was played which had a fight sequence and, Love scene although less but was okay for diabetic patient like me.... there were few scene which were great and hats off to the director and the team
a. Opening of the movie - Saif and his friend on Dolly’s marriage
b. Dialogue by Kareena’s father to vivek, which is vital to the entire plot
b. Transfer of power from Ajay to Vivek and Saif in vain
c. Saif kicking his friend in river
d. Konkona sen’s abuses to Vivek
e. Naseer Uncle’s order to take U turn for train
f. Ajay kicking Saif and asking for the evidence
g. Murder of Kareena
Less songs and timely placed: - Songs all though were okay but were placed on a right frame. Why I say this, because I was not feeling bore when watching Bips dancing, as there was plot running on back ground
Now comes Cons:-
who gave idea to Mr. Bhardwaj to hire Vivek Oberoi.... he could have replace him with Imraan Hashmi and I am sure this movie would have been nominated if not for Oscar but for Filmfare award... I actually believe this guy has to grow... and if he thinks, he is an actor by profession then could some please hire him for under 18 movies!!!! Or tele serials or cartoons
Could have been more better if Nasser uncle’s role was stretched.
Bips role was short but sweet... I appriciated her performance
Kareena... please please Karishma Didi could you please teach this lady how to perform and not to over react.... except in the last role of the movie... when she was killed by Ajay that was good but rest looked over and over and out.
Over all this movie is good, worth watching atleast once, before the original is scrapped and this time I won’t feel disappointed if this movie is aired on Star plus or Sony as I know, original I have seen.

PS:- Saif, I believe performed much better than Ajay... good job
