This is one movie which lives up to the Hype. Most of us have read Shakespeare’s Othello so we know the story. This is the Indianised version, very rustic very earthy!The Main cast: Omi Played by Ajay Devgan- aah those simering eyes. They speak volumes!! Langda Tyagi- Saif Ali Khan, welcome the new baddie in town! He sheds away the metrosexy ways and this movie belongs to this guy! Dolly Mishra- Kareena Kapoor. Finally she makes an impression, in the acting department, hats off to Vishal Bharadwaj! She gives a performance worth an award. Bhaisaab- Nasseruddin Shah. He is there in the movie for a while but whenever he does come around you know that we have a vetran among us. Keshu Firangi- Vivek Oberoi. He does his part well, although his role is a bit half baked. Billoo- Bipasha Basu. This Corporate lady is making waves in the village buring a beedi with ther fire!! This movie is into the realms of the dark side of Human trait- Jealousy! And how it ruins everything....! The settings are in UP/Bihar so we have a lot of slangs being used librally....caution family people and those used to watching candyfloss movie. This one is surely hard to digest! Yes, perhaps if it were set in a Mumbai setting we all know how it would have been. One interesting reference here is the word "Chootiya" being used librally... as per a very informed friend of mine, in those parts it it means "Fool"! Enjoy the movie, difficult to digest, and very hard hitting. Does make one cring! Amazing direction, this movie is gonna pick up a lot of metals in terms of awards! Hats off to Vishal Bharadwaj!
