As usual the gulzar and vishal comination is really nice. The inventive lyrics by gulzar have been given some really nice score by vishal.
I wasn’t too muchimpressed by Maqbool songs(which was their last score together) butthis album sounds pretty good.
I am a person who gives lyrics a little more weightage than music. And gulzar is as usual good with his ideas in this score. Gulzar is probably the only lyricist after sahir ludhianavi whom I find consistently good. Also, he sticks to the theme of the song in all his stanzas unlike sameer and the lyricist’s of sameer’s ilk who have no theme in their songs except that the lines would rhyme.
So if someone likes the words interplay this is a must buy.
I particularly find the songs "saathi re", "naina", "namak" and "omkara" are outstanding. And "Beedi", "Laakad" are also good.
The voices do justice to the songs as well.
