Hundred years of ambiguity

One hundred years of solitude by the much proclaimed writer Gabriel gracia maraquez is another book that spread through the reading community like fire but on first hand reading and examination of the book I realised that compared to other works of gabriel such as "love in the time of cholera" this book stands no grounds.

The plot revolves around a secluded community where everything is sorted and people happy without any sign of death or despair.  It is a story of evolution of the community as it comes in touch with various foreign techniques and elements. It is a story of how people, their nature change over a period of time. Overall Gabriel has thrown contradicting views all over in the novel giving it an ambiguous air which makes me as a reader, decisiveness of the novel.

The characters are intellectually way too simple and their actions way too immature for a reader from a sophisticated society . overall though I am a huge fan of Gabriel’s writing I was disappointed this time around.
