“One Indian Girl” is a book describing the life of an average looking Indian girl named Radhika Mehta who is getting married to
Brijesh Gulati who works in Facebook. She thinks she is not so pretty. Her sister is exactly like the girl next door and she isn’t. But, she is smart and intelligent. Everything she does has a point. Later, she moves to New York for her job at Goldman Sachs, a bank where she finds her first love Debu. Due to some differences between them, they part their ways. Then she meets Neil Gupta, her senior. She falls for him and even he reciprocates. Neil has his family, a wife and children. He often visits Radhika and on one fine day, he confesses that Radhika shouldn’t think of marrying him. Instead, she should focus on her career. This is the reason why both of them break up and Radhika moves to Hong-Kong. The book switches from present to past to present and that adds more grace to the book.
