The mystic cover and an award winning author, in my opinion are enough for someone to choose a book for reading.And this book has these 2 qualities.Knowing the title we feel that the book revolves around God and that call center but to our utter suprise its the other way round!!!!
Its about normal people with normal lives having normal problems to deal with and all of whom are combined in one room the CALL CENTRE.The main character from whose eyes the author writes the story is:
Shyam He is an ordinary guy working at the call centre.His Problem :A girl friend with whom he has broken up but still loves and a bad boss who has spoiled his life.
Vroom:He is the COOL DUDE mad about bikes and girls!!!! He is also Shyam’s good friend.His Problem:the trauma he has been facing due to his parent’s divorce and wants to be rich so that he can throw money all around like his richie rich friends do.
Military uncleHe is the oldest and talks quite less.He is strict and punctual.His Problem:A son who has left him alone and is living in the States.’uncle’ can’t even e-mail or talk to his grand son.
EshaAn aspiring model and one of the prettiest girls out there.(also Vroom’s love interest)Her Problem:She is just 5’5’’ and quite short for a model.She does a one night stand for the same and wants to get out of that guilt.
PriyankaShe is the one Shyam is mad about.Is going to be married to some Ganesh in the states.Her Problem:wants to stay peacefully with her mother.’Coz of her mother she had the slightest idea of leaving shyam.
radhikaShe is a housewife married for 5 yrs.Her ProblemHer nagging mother-in-law.Later she comes to know her husband is interested in some other girl.
The story revolves around the six of them and Oh! I didn’t mention about the devil or the villain Bakshi :the boss of the call centre.Defeated and dejected with their problems all the 6 of them go to a disco to freak out.On their way back their Qualis gets stuck and then they get THE CALL FROM GOD.The story is presented well with switching to flashbacks between Shyam & Priyanka often.It is a must read for te dejected as well as the lovie dovies.The whole idea of a filmi ending is fabulous
