Good Book

One Night at the Call Centre was for sale at a local bookstore and as it sounded like a nice read I bought it not expecting very much. And I have to say, that the story turned very much out like I thought: It is told by Shyam, a young man from India, who works in a call centre together with his ex-girlfriend Priyanka and four very different friends. Everyone of them has their own small or bigger problem with life and love. And during one special night at the call centre, they all have to face these problems.

I really liked the way the different stories of the six friends were brought together and how they finally managed to solve things after a very drastic event that happens during that one night at the call centre. The ending(and I’m only taking about the last scene) still was a bit too dramatic for me. But the way how the characters developed during the course of the story was extremely well written and described.

Furthermore I really liked the prologue and the epilogue that tells how the author got to develop the story. Even though I wasn’t quite sure about the meaning of the epilogue, it was very entertaining. And finally Google told me I was right about what I thought about it.

So all in alll, One Night at the Call Centre is a very entertaining and joyful read. And if you don’t expect too much from it, you’re totally going to enjoy it. The characters are very different, but very well described and funny, and the story’s plot is not totally forseeable, nevertheless there are no great suprises either. This novel is just a very fast and cute read
