Oneplus a subsidiary of Oppo, entered the smartphone market 2 yrs ago and this is their 4th phone. Lets see whats there in this phone.
Build and design: The phone is built out of metal and feels solid in the hand. One issue I found with it is that, the back vibrates while charging with the supplied charger.
Display: the device sports a 5.5 in full hd display which is quite good. The viewing angles and color accuracy are top-notch. However I noticed some screen flickering issue at very low brightness but again this might be an issue with just my device.
Battery life: The battery life is just avg. Will last u a typical day, but dont expect even a more hour than that.
Performance: The device is powered by the new Snapdragon flagship, SD 820 and performs very smoothly even in heavy games. The UI is very close to stock despite some useful customisations. The memory management however for a 6GB ram device is not that impressive. A stock android device with even 4 GB ram will easily beat it. Oneplus says that they have done this despirately to save battery life, but in my opinion, they shud have given an option to the use to do so.
Camera: The camera is very dissapointing for a device that the company calls a flagship killer. Even the Moto G4+ price abt half the price of this one can compete with it in camera forget abt the flagships.
Speaker: The speaker is adequately loud and provides good sound experience, but if there had been stereo speakers, it wud be gr8.
Call quality is top notch.
Updates: I’m not very sure abt updates, but in my opnion u shud at least get the next android update.
Price and competition: The device has the highest price tag of any Oneplus device so far. But it does provide us many gr8 things.
The new dash charging is just amazing.
The major flaw is the heating issue, back vibrating while charging, not so good camera. Being a chinese new comer, the service might be a hit or a miss. So thats the case with almost all the chinese vendors.
I wud suggest if u are looking for a device at this price, have a look at Nexus 6p which is a bit higher in price but much better in camera but has just 3Gb ram but coz of stock android that also performs gr8.
