4m last few months, I was looking for a dual sim mobile phone, there are so much unbranded choices on dual sim these days but I was looking for a branded dual phone in around 3500 and no branded company like samsung give a dual sim mobile on that price except fly(as per my market survey).
Later, I trusted my dealer who insist me on onida and I bought onida G490 model on 17.12.2009. Previously, I never used any onida product and today I can proudly say the review title of mine - it’s neighbour’s envy, owner’s pride.
This basic phone has everything in it. It supports upto 8 gb external memory, it has mp3&4 - sound quality is excellent. Ring tone is very good, it’s loud. It has dual sim with dual standby. voice clarity is superb. It has one unique feature - funny accent - where u can change ur voice and surprise ur callers, a real fun. It has 500 contact memory where in every name u can save upto 5 nos along with e mail ids etc. Battery backup is good, they are saying it has stamina battery, I need to charge my device in every 3 days. Forget about dual sim, even for a single sim phone - it is great. But the battery required more than 3 hrs to get fully charged and the talktime is approximately 150 - 200 mts. It also has fm recording facility. I can say with this handset, u’ll get everything possibly u want from ur mobile phone.
But it uses normal digital camera, so the picture quality is not very high. But I guess, whoever want to buy a set with this price tag, doesn’t mind that at all. Here even u can record continuous video pictures as well. It also has bluetooth, melody composer, all day to day requirements like calculator, currency converter, bmi chart, alarm clock, stopwatch, torch, Indian calender, to do list, sound recorder, games etc.
Lookwise, I am not impressed at all. I think, Onida needs to put up some serious thought here. It is a dull looking phone but if look is not important for u, then this is a handset for u. Cheers.
