Auto drivers starts their durty game to make money, they will tell you that there are good hotels which suits you and what they will do they will take you first the most worst hotel that you will not like to step in and you will ask him to take you to good hotel, they will take you a bit better than the one he takes you first.
But again the same not good to stay and like this he will repeat again and again and atlast he will take you the good one, and what will happen your auto bill will be 400 to 500 Rs. and in hotels also you wont get discount because auto driver takes the commision for bringing you to the hotel.
Kindly note if you know any hotel in ooty but not booked and hireing an auto to take you there tell him that you got the booking over there or tell him that you are the regular guest. and also inform to the reception at time of checkin that you are comming direct to this hotel auto driver has nothing to do. you will get good discount in hotels if you are comming direct or with refference of any friends so and so.
And aslo beaware that hotel he takes you the same which you know he will try to divert to other hotel because of the commision and you will loose discount. all these not only happens in hotel but also if you are going for shopping by auto there also you wont get discount because driver takes your discount as commision.. if you know the hotel book it find in the internet for good hotels and do booking...*
