Ooty Avalanche Lake- Upper Bhavani. Visited Jan 2009. Its a wonderful place to visit which is around 40 kms from Ooty.
*Route Sketch*
Ooty -> Emerald -> Avalanche
The forest route is not good.
*Prerequisite *
Get prior permission from the Forest Officials before getting there. It is restricted area due to Forest Fire.
*Attractions
*When you reach the place, you cant believe your eyes. There is a waterfalls which we can see from the long distance. The catchment area is not full with the water.
The water color...i cant say it in words. I saw this kind of place only in Movies. But now the images come true to my eyes.There is a Beautiful temple. Godess Bhavani Amman. It is built up near by the waterfalls.
*Animals on the Go*
When going on the way to Upper Bhavani we are lucky to see a Blank Panter. I dont have Picture of it. It suddenly jumped on the road from the tree and crossed away.
*Eatables and Shops*
Take the food items with you or you can get it from the place called Emerald which is on the way to Avalanche. There are no shops after Emerald.
*Request*
If you try this place, my kind request will be, not to smoke. The Forest Officers are specific on this concern.
They are (we too) facing problems due to Forest Fire. There are lot many warning boards also in and around all the places of the thick forest.
Do not blow the Horn when you are going by your own vehicles.See the enclosed Pictures of that beautiful place.
