Opel corsa is a disappointment after the much hyped advertisement linking iy with millenium. The best, and recommended by themselves, model is 1.6 which costs around, maybe a little less than Rs. 8 lakhs on the road. Now for this price you would want a roomy and comfortable interrior, which it doesnt have. The sitting space and the interriors are such that you feel more cramped than in a Maruti-1000. The gear rod is the worst compared to all other brands. There is nothing exceptional about the dashboard or seats upholstery as well. The handling of the car too is nothing exceptional. Almost all cars with powered steering handle as well as Corsa. Most cars in this price range including Opel’s Astra, offers far more comfort and much better handling. Technically being Opel, it may be excellent..but such details may interest an automobile engineer, not us.
If you want a quality car for that kind of price go for Mitsubishi’s Lancer or Honda 1.5. Do consider Hyundai Accent GLS. for a little less than 7 lakhs, It offer all the comfort and sops other cars in 8 lakhs+ offer..may be...just may be it is not technically as superrior (as claimed by Honda and Mitsubishi), , , but for a laymen like us ..who cares?
