I have been Orange user over a number of times. I have used several orange prepaid cards and have love hate relationship with it.
Orange is Reliable : I can hardly remember having signal problems. They have always been forerunners in adopting technology therefore as a customer you are well backed up... provided you are will to pay. multi party conference, international voicemail, GPRS, STD, ISD, Group sms all your varied communication needs comfortably at your fingertips. Just say when.
Orange is Customer friendly : By customer friendly I mean not only the Customer care phone set up which is almost always very quick, But I mean the depth... make your own ringtones, If your phone does not have group sms option go to their web site and make your groups. Then their zero validity refills. which spread over your prepaid plan without any period, their Rs.2000/- year plan (last year) which was given as full talk time with validity of 1 year. Their mobile to mobile at 0.99 p pack- very thoughtfull. And extremely low advt. sms hardly 1 or 2 in a week. All shows their eagerness to retain their customers.They respect their customers.
Orange is (very) expensive : Roaming too is expensive. Their post paid options are easily the most expensive one. Therefore migration from prepaid to postpaid is no-no. The GPRS is also very expensive with your refill melting like ice in desert when you go online or download any thing(Planet Hutch). Mobile to Landline calls are quite expensive. The life time Chalta rahe 999 without any supporting packs is simply very expensive with high talktime charges. SMS is Rs.1.50 simply too expensive and quite a deterrent.Rs.49/- per month is a robbery especially when you are also charging seperately for airtime so also for GPRS.
However I have found that whenever I was either on the brink of change or return after a change it was always ORANGE.
