Ok, I know the title is a bit contrary, but I simply loved this book from Sheldon. Reading my reviews, people would think I am a complete biblioholic (someone addicted to books, if you must know) so I generally revu the books that I have read. Now, this book, I was not very intruiged by coz I thought, its an autobiography will consist of all the incidents that happened in sheldon’s life, how exciting could that be? Not much, for me. But I turned out to be wrong. The books is itself like a novel, as gripping and as interesting as any of his others. I stayed up late at night to finish the book, since I really wanted to know that whats gonna happen next?
How true are the words of Otto (Sidney’s father) u have to keep turning the pages to know what’s going to happen next. The life of Sidney Sheldon has been a roller coaster ride, full of thrills and chills, he himself describes it as an elevator, which keeps going up and coming down, but thankfully for him (and for us) doesn’t stop. It gives you an insight into the mind and soul of Sheldon himself as well as the places he worked at, MGM, Paramount, Hollywood, Broadway and the like. He tells us, how difficult life is, in poverty and how easy it becomes with affluence. It was one of the most touching account of anyone’s life that I have ever read, though I am not very fond of reading biographies or much non-fiction but this one makes an exception. This book, is as good as any novels of Sheldon, complete with a storyline, characters, a plot, many sub-plots etc etc etc. Although I have to admit that towards the end, the charatcers become a bit confusing, but if u keep ur mind into the book and try to remember them, u get it all right :D.
So, I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Sheldon (if you are, you would have got thi book already) and definitely to someone who is NOT a fan of Sheldon, coz this book is enough to turn you.
