The media is waging a war on sankaracharya and try to give judgement before the trial. The media should understand that they are their to give the truth to the people not to create perception either in the positive side or on the negative side. The media role is very important and I personally believe all the media has erred in this. Either they have taken side of Sankaracharya(to say honestly only a few took his side) or the other side.
The Print media like Outlook, India Today and most of all paper media in Tamilnadu except Thuklak has gone against Sankaracharya and has given news with full of perception and with one aim creating a negative image on Sankara Mutt and Sankaracharya.
If we go to visual media that was even worse, look at the stories done by STAR news which is full of twists and turns and full of imagination. If Sankaracharya could spend one crore to kill Sanakararam he could have easily purchased him for that money. The payment of one crore is not a small one and their is no preliminary evidence to prove this. Eventhough the media took against Sankarachar in the beginning, after they understood the way in the case is going most of the media except STAR NEWS has taken a careful stand of not taking sides. They just cover the news as it is.
My sincere feeling is Media please do not misuse the power you have. They say people’s memory is short. When Laloo and paswan back tracked the media showed their statements time and again. This may happen in Sankaracharya case also
