Hair today gone tomorrow

Hair care is a worldwide industry involving cosmetics, fashion, cutting, styling, and hygiene. Billions of dollars are spent each year on a part of our bodies that is essentially dead; the actual hair shaft is not alive, but the scalp and skin follicles from which hairs grow is very much alive.

Proper hair care, therefore, involves more than just the hair itself. A healthy scalp, skin, and metabolism are all needed to produce the vibrant, healthy hair that flows across our television screens in elaborate slow motion.

All the hair you’ll ever have on your head is determined at birth. That’s because hair

grows from a root in your scalp and the number of roots cannot be changed. Each hair

grows from the root to a certain length depending on your unique genetic makeup, and then slows down, then stops naturally. At some point, it’ll die and be shed. You lose about 30-70 hair every day. Don’t worry the lost hair are replaced by new growth soon after’

You can help make your hair grow longer by taking good care

a) Massage: Giving your self gentle scalp massages regularly, and limiting coloring and perms. Rub your entire scalp briskly, using your knuckles and fingertips. Grab handfuls of your hair neat the roots, gently pull your hair for ten seconds, covering your

entire scalp. Your hair also needs proper blood circulation to remain strong, which can be increased with brushing and scalp massage

b) Environmental conditions: Your hair is mostly made of water which you lose due to the sun exposure, too much processing, and blow-drying. Oil from your scalp coats each shaft and acts as a barrier against evaporation.    Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as this will clog up your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you want. .After swimming, shampoo as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residues it is  extremely damaging to the hair and scalp

*HAIR FALL

Always consult your Dermat for extreme fallout and thinninghair. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side effects.

Others are: High stress factors can cause our body to react by fluctuating hormone levels.  whichcauses excessive oil secretion(sebum) which results in hair loss.Pregnancy, nursing, menopause even birth control medication .

Avoid "crash and fad" diets.

Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are important factor for healthy hair and skin.
