Bite me

If you want to keep your own teeth for a long period of time, maybe even a lifetime, it is important to start from a very early age. However if that wasn’t done and your teeth are still in decent shape it is not to late to take proper care of them now.

One of the most important things is to visit your dentist twice a year, have any cavities filled and get an extra cleaning which is much more intensive than what you can do at home.

I recommend brushing after each meal with a non-abrasive toothbrush and a good toothpaste preferably with flouride and baking soda in it.

I also have a special dental pick to clean between the teeth and massage the gums. It is important to take care of the gums also. Flossing is good as well but I prefer the pick. If you do not have slits between the teeth for this instrument to fit then I would still recommend getting one for the purpose of massaging the gums only and use floss to clean between the teeth.

I also recommend a good bacteria fighting mouth wash or you can use warm water with just a touch of salt in it. The mouth wash of course will keep you from having bad breath. Your mouth can be perfectly taken care of but some foods we eat will leave bad breath and I can think of nothing worse than talking up close or kissing some one with bad breath.

You also need to make sure you put enough calcium in your body to keep the teeth strong or they could become soft and break off. It is also good for strong bones in any part of your body and a woman needs a lot more than a man so check with your Doctor on the amount you should have. If your system does not tolerate dairy products very well then you can take it in pill form available over the counter in any drug store.

Bad teeth or gum disease can lead to a lot of other unpleasant conditions. If your gums are in bad shape get them taken care of as you can literally get poisioned from the drainage of pyiria bacteria in your system.

Take care of your teeth and gums and they could last you a lifetime.
