Overdrive has to be one of the poorest examples of journalism I the have ever come across. The layout is ripped out from from a foriegn bike mag I have read though cant recall name. Overdrive is very biased to Bajaj I think being together in pune with this and also the crappy website xbhp who they seem to have a tie up with for sure.
All the guys writing for this mag seem to be out for the own personal faim. They need to learn readers like to read impersonal pages. I just read on their website their latest issue is 500 pages so. As my subscription copy always later is still to arrive I know its going to be filled with 400 pages of rubbish and 100 pages of info more easily available in a superior mag like BS motor where one does not need to do so much sifting for the real meat.
The website also carries a sickening page that has them talking of how each of them is an engineer and how they sell more than all other mags put togt\ether, I mean, cmon now Overdrive, its time you learnt all readers arent the gullible goose types and do read more than simply one mag-Overdrive. Anyone with common sense can see this is not true. And then there s the famous Bajaj /Overdrive tie up.
I have even heard confirmed reports through a sharp observer neighbor at chakkan that Overdrive testing team is doing tests at BALs test track on other factorys bikes--Yamahas Dragstar last year in specific he has seen with his own eyes-- disgusting, someone needs to bring this up strongly to the poublic notice.
I personally feel BS and even Indian auto do this mag into the ground. Made the mistake of subscribing to them but I am surely not going for them again this year when my subscription lapses in this coming up Dec 2004.
