Title : Ozzy Mania
Review : Forget all the dirty stories you hear about him. They dont come in to the picture when you decide about music. Ozzy Osbourne still remains the godfather of metal and one of the greatest Metal Artists. Most of the songs have guitaring by Randy Rhoads. I personally think he is the best guitarist we have ever had. For people, who have never heard Ozzy before or have just heard a few songs here and there, this is the album to start with. The first two songs War Pigs and Black Sabbath are the purest versions and hence a bit raw to be appreciated by people who are not hardcore metal fans. The track War Pigs was originally entitled Walpurgis, meaning The Witches Sabbath. Goodbye to Romance is a sentimental one written when he left Black Sabbath and is a good one. The album starts kicking with Crazy Train. It has some really profound guitaring and gets you into the groove. Over the mountain, Mr crowley continue the same. The Randy Rhoads guitared version of Paranoid is included. Personally I feel that the Megadeth version of the same song is better. How ever it is a great song with one of the most profound lyrics I have ever heard. Shot in the dark and Crazy Train continue the psychadellic effect. I dont want to change the World was a grammy winner and No more Tears is a famous song of his. Mama I am coming home is a powerful ballad and provides a change. A pretty sentimental song and the best Ozzy has ever written with some great guitaring( He used to say this to his wife, when evr he was gonna return from a long tour) I just want you is my favorite from the album. Awesome guitaring and vocals. Similar is back on earth. The album is a great one with a real good compilation of Ozzys songs. Most of the songs have guitaring by Randy Rhoads and the technically perfect Zakk. And ofcourse Ozzy Osbourne is a great vocalist. In short, if you are new to the music of Ozzy Osbourne, this should be among the first albums you pick up. None of the songs require that much energy to get into and hopefully it will serve its purpose by guiding you into the rest of his work.
