EXPECTATIONS
I had fairly high expectations after Balki’s first bolly movie Cheeni Kum, glowing reviews and the main thing BIG B in a breathtaking role.
STORY
I wont go much into details about the story.I will try to keep it short.Auro is a boy with a very rare disease Pijoieriya in which body grows 5 times faster than the real age.Vidya balan is his single mother with Abhishek being his father but he does not know about it.Auro’s interaction with Abhishek, who is an MP, forms the crux of the story.
POSITIVES
Superb performances by the lead cast expecially BIG B.
Simplistic but awesome direction and writing by Balki.
Sweet and melodious tunes by Iliyeraja.
Fantastic make up, cinematography and screenplay.
NEGATIVES
- Side story seems kind of forced and unnecessary.
MUSIC
Music is awesome.The tunes are sweet with a lot of melody and just touches your heart, Great work by Iliyeraja.Gum sum and song sung by Amitabh at the end stand out.
DIRECTION
Direction by Balki is top notch.It is kept simple and uncomplicated but still looks so matured and balanced.One tends to fell in love with the characters and gets engrossed in the movie due to fantastic direction.
PERFORMANCES
AMITABH - What can one say about his performance.Its right up there among his best acts and this is a big thing cause afterall we are talking about big b.Just not even for a second you feel that Auro is Amitabh.The acting, mannerisms, body language, voice everything seems perfect for the role.This is by far the best act of this year and one of the best of this decade if not of all time.Salute to one of the greatest actors ever.5/5
ABHISHEK - I will say that I am not a big fan of Abhishek.I liked him immensely in some f his movies but overall not a big fan of him.But in this movie, he was awesome.A great act by him and by far the best act of his career.See him in emotional scenes and one will release how talented he really is.5/5
VIDYA - She is a very very talented actress and one of the better actress we have today and she proves it.His act is the best female act this year without saying.She was very controlled, very matured in the movie.This movie just shows what being an actress actually means.It does not mean just to smile unnecessarily in every movie and only dance in the movie.She is leagues ahead of so called’superstar actress’ of today.5/5
4.SUPPORTING CAST Not only the leads but the supporting cast was fantastic as well especially the women who played Vidya’s mom was fantastic.Kids in the school especially the friends of Auro a.k.a the child who played vishnu was natural.
OVERALL
A must watch in truest sense.Watch it to appreciate the hard work that has been put to make it.One of the best movies of the year with one of the best acts of the biggest legend of bollywood.This movie will touch your heart and will appeal to everyone from kids to oldies.
