Love or Lust??

’’When Kaaya met Shiven, Desire was never the same.’’

In this movie, Love is confused with Lust. Love is a word which is uncomprehensible to most of us. The real meaning that is. We usually merit infatuations, desires, obsessions as LOVE. But Love has nothing to do with all this. Love is a feeling which sidelines all the passions. Love ends all desire. But when Kaaya fell in love with Shiven, her desire intensified.

Director claims that Kaaya was in love with Shiven, but that was not the case. She(Director) tried to portray Kaaya’s love for Shiven but all her attempts turned out to be a fiasco. Everywhere & everything was nothing but LUST.

Those who have seen the movie would agree with me & they surely did gauge the meaning of the above lines. But those who haven’t seen this yet might be getting inquisitive to know more.

So Whats There In The Movie??

===================

Kaaya (Udita Goswami) is the central character of the movie. The story revolves around her. Kaaya is brought up in a buddhist community. Her father implores her to renounce the wordly pleasures so that she could get a kedgy life in her next birth. But Kaaya is no different than other girls. In her heart, she nurtures the dreams & hopes of her prince charming. But as she is forbidden to follow her heart, she writes romantic poetry to appease her latent feelings. Besides writing poems, she mollify her desires by bathing herself in cool-open waters of Spiti.

Rest all is quite predictable. Like all hindi movies, the unexpected happens. Shiven (John Abraham) - a cop - comes into her life. But she doesn’t meet Shiven on a trip to Europe. Remember how Raj & Simran of DDLJ met !! She meets this guy in Delhi. ’How’ & ’why’ are the questions which I prefer not to answer otherwise my revu would sound too boring. All I would tell u is that the whole scenario of Kaaya-meeting-Shiven is debilitating & frail.

Towards the end, Kaaya’s father lets go of her. The ending reminded me of DDLJ. Ja Simran ja, jee le apni zindagi !! Kaaya runs & runs & runs & runs & finally, hugs her sweetheart. Phew !!

Anything Else??

===================

Music of the movie needs a special mention. Phenomenal tunes & rhythms. Meticulously written https://lyrics. Sung passionately.

Cinematography is awesome. Eye-catchy locations of Spiti were captured beautifully by the camera. Be it a scene of sunrise encountered by Shiven or Kaaya’s introductory scene, it offered a treat to the eyes. The aestheitic beauty of virgin locales of Spiti sidelined the bare-body acts of John & Udita.

Concept of the movie is a new one. Never before a movie came with a subject of spirituality versus worldly pleasures.

Kaaya’s character has been carved out beautifully & the introductory scene of Kaaya is the highlight of the movie.

Lama - the small kid - was better than the rest of the crew. His acting was natural & enthralling.

Concluding Notes:

===================

In a nutshell, a good concept is wasted. But the movie is worth a watch, if only to find out what all the fuss is about.

So, indulge urself in this SIN. You won’t be sent to HELL.
