Well, I stayed in Padmashri Lodge at Sringeri, Karnataka on 22 December 2012. When I had booked through internet(without any photos) and 528/- for a room for 2 adults, I thought it would be a decent hotel to stay for a night.But, when I landed in Sringeri and the owner showed the room to us, we were just shocked. The room was 7x10 square feet in dimension.
Wash basin was in the room and it was touching the beds(what horror!). There were two beds and cots separately, when I looked down the first cot it was OK cleaned, now when I looked down to see the under second cot, to my horror it was fully filled with spider web, so much so that I could imagine it wasn’t cleaned for a long time! Also, when we first entered the room the room was shabbily maintained and even the bedsheets were dirty. When we asked to change the bedsheets, they just changed only the bedsheet of the front bed!!! We had booked two rooms in the lodge paying Rs.1038/-.
We just left the lodge and took the room in a lodge which is run by the temple itselfand I highly recommend to never book a room in this lodge.
