This a fairly new resort with clean spacious rooms. The room service and the ambiance of the resort was great. They had a swimming pool which is under the shades on the surrounding trees. This is a kid friendly resort with apt detailing to make your stay comfortable. We had booked a deluxe room in Pagoda resorts through cleartrip in Dec’08 and it cost us Rs 3200 per room.
The rooms came with a spacious patio. Our rooms were on the 5th floor which provided us with the view of the city and the sunrise. This resort is walking distance from the city shopping place and the station is about 3.5 kms away. The Alleppey beach is about 4 kms away.
The resort has a private jetty in front which provides motorboat rides. The resort served buffet for all the meals and also had room service. The houseboat is great experience but kinda gets boring after a while and is also extremely expensive. We opted for a 2 hour ride which tooks us to the lake and the also served us fresh fish which we bought from the locals.
This couple of hours cost us R. 2500 but overall it was worth it. The biggest hassle is the rickshaw wallas that are a pain to deal with as there are forever ready to fleece you. Overall the kerela backwater experiance was great and Pagoda made it so.
