I have nice memories of Palika bazaar. During my third visit to Delhi, I went for the first time to Palika bazaar and was overwhelmed by the incredibly varied and cheap goods on offer from the thousands of shops within this mall. The first thing that I remember buying was an instructional guitar video which was very rare because in those days there was no internet. After that, I have visited Palika bazaar numerous times and always found something of interest.You can get everything here from clothes to books and it is also famous for pirated goods. This place is literally always flooded with shoppers because of the cheap rates of it’s goods. It is also air conditioned so it offers a nice respite during the intense heat of the summer season in Delhi. However one has to be careful of counterfeit products especially when buying electronics as a lot of duplicate items are sold here and it is always a good idea to haggle as the shopkeepers soon give in to their customers haggling. The most amount of money that I’ve spent here was when I bought six Playstation consoles for a friend who was about to open as videogame parlour. After I handed over the goods to him, I never received any complaints so this goes to show that some shops here are genuine businesses. I highly recommend visiting Palika bazaar at least once if you haven’t already.
