I had the chance to test drive the palio petrol when my friend was looking for a car. though the car looks good from outside , and fiat has actually managed a good pint job, let me warn u , the interiors will let u down.
we test drove the 1.2 version.
lets evaluate the car step by step -
1) looks - good looking but the indica coming earlier has taken away quite a number of people who go for looks.a good paint job and some different colors available r a good thing to c.also the headlamps with the new diamond kind of reflectors improves the face value literally.
2) engine - great engine..superb pulling power and very good acceleration.
3) airconditioning - pretty powerful and effective
4) the ride - comfortable . this car has the best shock absorbing qualities I have ever seen .its pretty smooth on these roads.
5) interiors - this is the part fiat better get working on fast. though spacious the interiors just feel cheap.compare it to any other car , santro and matiz , the interior is bad. the dash though revamped a bit has the same old fiat look. the seats r comfartable (just) but the fabric is bad dosent gel with the initerior . even the ac vents and the switchgear carried forward from the siena feels plasticky and cheap .the vents with aliminium brushed looks too dosent go that well. compare the switchgear and seat fabric from the santro and u will know wut I mean. also no cup holders !!! a must these days in cars. space on the dash is wasted , cud have been utilised better. space inbetween the seats is wasted too ..the power window switches look n feel cheap too. fiat better get this part right..
space in the dikky is impressive . its large and that will go well with indians .
