I tried several of Palm devices including Palm tungsten, palm zire 22 , zire 72 and palm 600 before acquiring this palm 650.The OS ver 5 is indeed rugged and stable.
The response is also commendable, and the outstanding feature about this gadget is its wonderful sound reproduction and with its 3 mega pixel or VGA camera it could capture some really good , nay excellent photographs in low light , without flash!!!.
Tonnes of software is available for this mobile, and ease of use is another factor which is laudable. With a single digit you can scroll around the screen select applications and browse.
The inbuilt bluetooth is ok, but it needs some improvements to recognize commercially available hands free sets. Wifi could have been also incorporated as in HP IPAQ 6300 series.
The width of the phone also could have been toned up to snugly fit in shirt pockets? And of course to compete with the new generation phones, it could have shrunk the antenna, as in treo 500 or latest arrivals. All said and done, palm Treo 650 is the best in its class. In India , Palm has not made much of an entry into the high end users, only because non availability of spares like battery, chargers and obviously service.
Palm should look into this issue and also return to palm os rather than their recent trend in jumping to windows mobile os, which does not go nice with the instrument.
