When I first saw my GD68, it was love at first sight. I knew I wanted it very badly. At the astonishing low price it was available, the smooth body curves, the 256 colour display, the 16 polyphonic tones were all very attractive features.I have received many admiring glances whenever my phone rings and its been a craze among my friends. The phone itself was very good to hold comfortably in your hands and it weighed a mere 80 grams. I have used several handsets such as Siemens C25, C35i, the Nokia 8250, Samsung N620, but this was the one I like the best. The Voice Clarity and the reception are very good. Though the reviews in several sites stated that the phone shut off suddenly once in a while, I have never faced that particular problem and I have been using the GD68 since 6 months. The battery life too is good. I recharge the battery only once in 2 1/2 to 3 days and I do use my phone a lot. The Hands Free feature particularly is very useful as the handset serves as a Speaker phone too. The tones provided are very good though the volume was found to be very low and difficult to be heard in crowded areas. There was also the option of recording any sound and playing it as a ring tone. I have recorded my 2 year old son calling me Daddy and use it as a ringtone which brings smiles whenever my phone rings. Theres also the Voice Dial option and another convenient feature to record voice memos which proved useful when someone asks me to jot down a phone number or a particular piece of information. I just record it in the Voice memo instead of searching for a piece of paper and pen. The Image-In feature where you can put an image of your choice under the back cover of the feature is a new concept to personalise your phone in an unique way. I keep changing the images every once in a while thrilling my friends with a new look to my phone everytime. Theres an option to download pictures and tones into the phone though I havent been able to find any on the internet yet! This most probably being because of the phone being a new entrant. I am though able to compose many tones into my phone manually using the Melody Composer. The Panasonic site isnt able to provide any polyphonic tones or images for the GD68 yet! I hope that the Panasonic site provides some polyphonic tones and images for the GD68 in India soon before the interest in these features wear out! All in All, I would recommend you to go and have a look at this phone. Its worth owning it. This phone would prove that a Nokia isnt the only one to win your heart! Go add some colour and music to your life and a few green faced friends!
