Extreme Cordless Phone

Yes, I am sure many of you are wondering why I chose here and now to come of the closet. And, why under the phone section? The answer is really pretty simple and probably unexpected; I finally found a phone that has acceptable reception when I am somewhere other than my closet. Sorry, but this is not the gossipy 0pinion or revealing 0pinion that you thought it might be.

The phone is quite similar to a cellular phone only slightly larger than, say a Nokia model. You have the handset and the base station and both are filled with convenient and useful options that make the phone a true joy to use.

As I said, the reception is wonderful and the 2.4 GHZ allows you to use the phone from a great distance from the base. The phone also lights up whenever you do anything and, therefore, night use is quite easy. Additionally, the handset is small enough that you carry it around while in the yard- a clip also comes with the phone so you do not have to put it in your pocket.

The Panasonic 2500S is very basic. It comes with the following features:

  • Handset with NiMH battery (up to 8-hour talk time or 14-day standby)

  • 7-hour quick charge

  • Headset-compatible

  • Belt clip

  • Base unit with dual antenna and handset locator button

  • 10-number memory (up to 21 numbers in each slot)

  • 1, 000, 000 security codes

  • Lighted keypad on handset

  • Redial & flash buttons

  • Ringer & handset volume control

  • Low battery alert

I tested the limits of this phone and it passed pretty much all my tests. I walked outside of the house to my car and then to the mailbox; phone worked fine. I then continued walking about three blocks away (barriers included trees, houses, cars, and even a stone wall); still worked like a charm. I was pretty impressed
