My old Codac 4 MP 5X OZ camera died just 2 weeks before my Brothers Marriage, , , What a mess. Though I was not too unhappy with that event, coz it gave me the opportunity to buy a new camera. Well Now the question is which one to buy.
I’m not gonna buy a DSLR, , coz it’s way over my budget.. I’m not gonna buy just a slick High Mega Pixel for 13K..They don’t let me Zoom much, , and most of them have blurry image when for a minor shake, Night shots are too grainy.. So those beautiful IXUS or CoolPIX or Cybershot is not for me..
I want some thing which let me give enough leverage to ZOOM to my desired object, A good multi featured Camera with good Image Stabilization(Lens Shift for sure). I short listed, , Canon Powershot SX10 and Panasonic Lumix FZ 28.
Both camera got good reviews from different Camera review sites... for Feature please go to. Price is also very competitive..Indian Rupees SX10 was coming at 24.5K and the other at 24k Approx (November 2008 White Market price). But My budget is around18k.. And not ready to stretch it further. Hence only one way I can do that.. I have to go gray.. It’s little risky, , but saving around 7.5 k in 24K is worth the risk.. I burgained at a store at Kolkata Chadni Market.. and found SX10 at 20K and the FZ28 in 16.5K.. no need to tell which one I went for I suppose..
FZ 28 turns out to be a superb ZOOM CAMERA in terms of photo quality, and other features like JPEG+RAW file, AF tracking, full manual control, great pop up flash, Add to my pleasure I found the video quality is awesome even in low lighting condition..! Got the print out of my Bro’s wedding, , and it easily beats the photos taken by the photographer(with his little Nikon CoolPIX) hired for his Wedding..
PS: This review is actually dated back to November 2008, but still holds it’s worth. I’m giving this Camera a thumbs up. Go for it.
