I recently got pure leather seat covers, steering wheels, door pads, and neck pillows done for my Honda Jazz from Pensee Leathers located in Kanakpura road, Bangalore.
First and foremost, I am really very happy with the quality of materials used and the professional way in which Pensee people completed my work. In addition to that, I am extremely happy with the way Mr. Satish Rai, the owner of Pensee leathers, took care of my very minor, as well as major needs. He took personal interest and ensured that at the end of the day I was a satisfied person. I think in todays world, you would hardly find a business person who would do the work first and ask you to pay later(that is without knowing you at all). Yes thats absolutely true. Mr. Satish completed my work about four days ago and I have not paid him until today(that is after about 4 days of completion of work). When I told him that I wanted to pay with my credit card, he informed me that he had applied for the credit card swiping machine from a bank and that I can pay him when the machine is installed and in the meantime they will complete the work. To me, that is an example of a very humane side of business.
In total, my experience of getting my seat covers done revolves around one person, Mr. Rai. He visited my residence several times. First he visited with leather samples, quite a few times to show me different shades of leather, then to show me stitching designs to select from(also told me that I can give him any specific design that I want and they can replicate it). A day before installation, he brought the leather hide at my residence to show me the quality of the leather and get an approval/confirmation. He dropped by my place to hand me over a few other things that could not be completed on the day of seat cover installation(a pair of neck rest and a box that I use as arm rest. both also done in the same leather).
I spent the whole day at his factory. This reminds me to confess that his factory is not in one of the great places of bangalore. It is a small outlet in a slightly remote location. But given the quality work and a gentelman behaviour I can ignore the locality.
My experience with Stanley was not that great. Actually, I called them up about 3 weeks ago and got a bad feeling talking to the lady when I asked about the least priced leather seats. She spoke to me like she was doing some kind of favor to me telling me the price. I decided not to pursue Stanley further.
I had another place in mind. Marvin Leathers. I spoke to them too. They sounded okay but the problem was that they were closed on that particular Sunday when I wanted to visit them. Incidentally, I came across Pensee leathers name somewhere on Team-Bhp website and did a google search. Found Mr. Rais number and called him up. The same day he came to my place with samples of pure leather as well as automotive leather.
To sum it up, I am quite happy with this particular experience, in terms of service and quality. You can always go ahead and get the work done with the big and established names in leather seat business. but there is no harm in at least talking to someone who is willing to go out of the way to fulfill your requirements to the best of their abilities.
Finally, I may sound as if I am writing on Mr. Rais behalf or on his insistence. But I take it as a personal responsibility to thank him by sharing a good feedback about his work, especially because I feel I owe him and his people this much.
