Great beaches, pristine water, more like a 4 star

I and my wife recently spent 3 nights and 4 days in this resort tocelebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. There were some small problemsbut overall experience was good.

The first thing that strikesyou about Maldives and resort in particular is pristine and crsytalclear blue waters. White fishes swimming in water adds to the beauty.Rooms in this resort are either beach facing or on the water itself, making sea very much accessible. Sea next to resort is shallow for somedistance and is good for swimming. Apart from natural beauty, theresort is well constructed and neatly maintained. Rooms and bathroomsare spacious and clean.

Other positive thing about resort isits friendly staff and management. They are always smiling and ready tohelp, making the stay more enjoyable. The pickup from and drop toairport was well managed and reception on arrival was warm andwelcoming. The buffet food is good with plenty of varieties in saladand desserts. Main course could have been better though.

Thedownside of the resort is the price. It is expensive and they chargefor everything. We had an all inclusive food package, but still had topay for water separately which itself came out to be 35 USD for ourstay. Sports facilities were also charged seprately. Alcohlic drinksand food dishes are about 15-20 USD each. Another problem was locationof rooms in the resort. Some of the rooms are so far that you’ve towalk for upto 15 minutes to reach it. 15 minutes walk is good afterdinner but very troublesome in the hot Maldivian sun after lunch. Ifyou plan to go there, try to get a room close to main restaurant asyou’ll be going there frequently. As if to add fuel to the fire, notonly rooms are far away, resort doesn’t offer any room service either, thus reducing the overall comfort considerably.

If you plan tovisit this resort, remember to carry plenty of USD or a credit cardwith a good limit. Not only the food and drinks are expensive, most ofthe water sports are of the order of$100 per person and the resortdoesn’t accept or exchange Indian currency. You can’t exchange Indiancurrency on Maldives airport either.
