We(Me, my wife and my 1 year old child) stayed for 4 nights 5 days at paradise isle on a Delux sea facing room.
Positives:
The reception staff were friendly people, other than one complain, which is that most of them could speak languages that we were familiar with English, Tamil, Hindi. House keeping did a good job of making the room good for us.
We had special requests for Food for our 1 year old child and they were able to accommodate that. Nice sea view from the room window.Clean nice beach. Friendly decent fellow beach goers.
Negatives:
Hot water in the room was intermittent, when it worked it was boiling hot, and when it didnt it was freezing cold and it didnt work for 2 full days and we had to give our 1 year old child cold water bath who already had a cold.
A/C was pathetic. The A/C ducts had not been cleaned up. The Room windows would not open, and A/C did not work atleast 2 of the 5 days.
BIGGEST NEGATIVE: Taxi booked from the front desk is obsolute rip off. For 1 day trip to udupi, they charged us 1400 on a non-a/c car.
On leaving, we asked to be dropped off at Mangalore Railway station, after showing us around few places on the way back to Mangalore. They promised Moodbidri, 2 beaches, A Durga temple and a Cathedral in Mangalore and negotiated 1650 for the trip.
But the driver would not speak anything to us, take us to Moodbidri and then directly drop us at Mangalore Railway station at 5:30, while our train was only at 7 and deman 200 more rupee for every extra hour!!!!. They were completely hearless to drop us off in from of the railway station with a 1 year old kid and cheat us like that.
Paradise Isle is targeting foriegn tourists, who have no clue of pricing point and no clue of what to expect for a given price. Rs. 5500 for the Delux sea facing room was over priced, Food was rightly priced, Taxi company was obsolute fraud rip off company. In all NOT RECOMMENDED.
