Paradise Packers was the first to call me.
Came on the same day and provided me a quote of 24K to transport from Bengaluru to Cuttack Odisha.
Came on 7th June to pack my stuff. And disappeared for 2 hours to pick up someone’s Bike and Fridge from 6 KM away from my residence. I want to stress on the Promised delivery date which was supposed to be 14th June.
I was demanded for full payment and the payment amount here to be noted was 33000. Including GST, Transit Insurance and some other miscellaneous charges. Incredibly increased of over 45% of the provided quote.
When I said I will only make 50% payment now and the rest will be given before delivery, there was a man who demanded for full payment.
Forget to mention that there only three idiots who had come for packing and couldn’t complete packing on time before dusk. Didn’t pack my bike and the mattress and there were some lose items.
Promised the lose items will go inside a box and the bikes will be packed at the warehouse. So I let them go.
Coming back to the payment, when I demanded for full payment, I politely said, sir you have my stuff, I am making half payment now and the rest half will be paid before delivery. You have ky stuff, I am making half payment, I don’t understand the reason why are you asking for full payment. He was rude and said the household items will be kept at their warehouse until i make the full payment. So made full payment
When there was delay in delivering, i called them on couple of number and finally received a number of a chap named by Rishal who can provide me with an update of whereabouts of my household items.
It was 16th June, 2 days after the Promised date.
Rishal he is pain in the butt said he will update me in sometime but to my surprise he never called me back. When I contacted him, he deliberately ignored my call. I called him about 50 time on 16th and 5-6 times on 17th.
Got the person number from my Google Pay whom the payment was made in full and contacted him. He again redirect me to Rishal.
I said that butthole isn’t responding after calling him 50 times and I’m not sure if my items are in safe hands. He then spoke to him and said the item will be loaded today that is 17th June and will be delivered in 2-3 days.
Again contacted Rishal from different number on 20th knowing the fact that he will never answer my call from the numbers I called him earlier.
He said it was loaded on 17th and the vehicle would reach in2-3 days.
Called him on 21st from a different number again and he said driver will contact me when he is at Cuttack. I asked him who would take care of unloading, and he said there are boys who would take care of it. Upon asking of Driver’s number I was denied for this to be provided.
Driver called me on 22nd June and he said he is 180 KM away from my location and requested for Google Map location. I shared as per his request.
Asked him where is the wear house and how many men would be coming to unload the items. He said sir there is no one and unload to be taken care by me.
I was earlier told that there would be a 22 feet long container on which the items will be moved. Considering this i arranged for couple of labors on ky own who would carry the items from main road to my house.
But surprisingly items were shipped in a small container and I was wondering how everything was fit inside this. The surprise was only because the vehicle which had come in Bengaluru was larger than the size of the vehicle which was approaching my location.
It reached at my door step and the door was opened and boom. What I see my broken corner study table glass and shelves. Which is 7 feet in height .
Then boom boom boom. Completely damaged, shoe rack, diwan and microwave. Which cannot be repaired.
Then my bike headlight and seat was damaged.
A side of Wardrob was completely damaged.
Broken Glasswares and Lao Palao sets.
And many more items.
I immediately called packers and movers and told them to settle the amount as the the amount mentioned by me for insurance. Then they said, let the vehicle go and claim settlement will take 10 business days. Write about the damages on the back side of the recipt and handover the receipt to the driver.
I demand for the general insurance for this Transit and they failed to produce. I got to know it was never made.
Detained the vehicle knowing the fact if I will let this go off, I will never get money for the damages.
After a negotiation of 5 hours, RS 15k was transferred to my account where as my original demand was for 25K.
During this entire time I was constantly abused by the broker whose name was Rajesh who connected packers with the transporter.
I lost my patience after constantly grilling over 5 hours so I parked another truck in front of the container which was supposed to leave from my place to Kolkata.
Then they started calling me I was not ready to be compensated anything less than 20K. They offered me another 3K.
Which was again a shortfall of 2k. I denied to accept the money.
They started threatening me of truck association, police etc. I said, do whatever you want to do. Call 100 rather going to police station.
I came up exhausted with the entire episode took shower and was having my tea whilst narrating the entire episode to my mother.
After few times I got call from the truck owner and he requested for this to let go. Considering his request I was settled for 18k but he was adamant.
